Who we are

Sommvi is an AI wine sommelier iOS application. Our contact email is admin@sommvi.com.

What data we collect

When you use Sommvi, we collect:

• Account information — your email address and name, provided during sign-up or via Sign in with Apple
• Wine preferences — your stated taste preferences, palate quiz results, wine ratings, and tasting notes you provide through the app
• Wine collection data — wines you add to your cellar or wishlist
• Scan images — photos of wine labels you scan within the app, stored to identify wines and attach to your tasting history
• Usage data — your conversation history with the AI sommelier, to provide personalised recommendations and maintain context across sessions
• Location (country) — your country, used to localise pricing and wine availability. We do not collect precise GPS location.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Provide and personalise the Sommvi service, including AI-powered wine recommendations matched to your palate
• Improve the accuracy of our wine identification and recommendation engine
• Manage your subscription and process payments (via Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat)
• Communicate with you about your account

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Third parties

We share data with the following third parties to operate the service:

• Anthropic — your conversation messages and wine preference data are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI models to generate recommendations and responses. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf under their usage policies.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — all data is stored on AWS servers located in the eu-west-2 region (London, United Kingdom).
• Apple — Sign in with Apple and In-App Purchase are handled by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies to those interactions.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives your subscription status and purchase history.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data

Children

Sommvi is not intended for users under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Sommvi after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
